The Bell
About This Spot
Stepping into The Bell feels like slipping into a well-loved local retreat nestled in the heart of Bottisham. Its warm, inviting atmosphere carries a gentle hum—part conversation, part laughter—where the pace is unhurried and welcoming. Whether you find yourself settling into the indoor cozy corners or enjoying the quiet charm of the garden as it continues to flourish, The Bell invites you to pause, connect, and savor the moment.
This bar strikes a fine balance between relaxed intimacy and a quietly buzzing social hub. It’s the kind of place where friendly faces—both staff and patrons—make you feel part of a community rather than a passing visitor. Conversation flows easily here, accompanied by the clink of glasses and the comforting aroma of barista-made coffee drifting through the air.
Food at The Bell is crafted with thoughtful care, offering dishes that feel like familiar joys with unexpected twists. From comforting small plates like lightly battered cod goujons to warming bowls of seasonal soup, the menu embraces both creativity and heart. There’s a refreshing attentiveness to plant-based options, reflecting a thoughtful approach to inclusive dining that suits varying appetites and tastes. The kitchen’s knack for harmonizing flavors is evident in both the lively spicy wedges and the hearty pulled mushroom chilli, delivering an experience that’s both approachable and satisfying.
By day, The Bell hums with the easy rhythm of morning coffee rituals and brunch conversations, its pastries and specialty brews setting a comforting tone. As the hours slide into evening, the space gently shifts—offering a scene equally suited to shared plates, relaxed drinks, and the occasional indulgent dessert. The evolving garden hints at promising seasonal gatherings and a growing sense of occasion, helping The Bell to feel rooted yet refreshingly alive.
For anyone seeking a genuine local gathering place—whether for a casual catch-up over coffee, a leisurely lunch, or a friendly evening drink—The Bell offers a quietly joyful discovery. It’s less about spectacle and more about the steady pleasure of good food, thoughtful service, and the sort of laid-back warmth that encourages you to stay a little longer.

So pleased to see The Bell doing so well, the garden is starting to come together and it sounds like they have some exciting plans for it! We have yet to have a bad meal here - usually coming for breakfast, but had a delicious dinner this evening. - great local pub :)

It's a great place to eat drink and socialise. The staff and management are pleasant and accommodating. The food whether it is breakfast, lunch or dinner is well presented and affordable. I would recommend the full English breakfast and for lunch the avocado and bacon salad (if its available)

The new management of The Bell have done an excellent job! I met a mate there for lunch a few days ago and it was great. Reasonably priced and tasty food (HUGE all day vegan breakfast) and a really welcoming vibe. Fantastic collection of contemporary print artwork on the walls too. Well worth a look-in.

Had a great lunch at the Bell. Large well filled sandwiches, with crisps and salad for £6 a plate. Very tasty brownies! Really friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

Breakfast was amazing. Only one issue my eggs were not soft. Will definitely be back but will make sure I ask for soft eggs. Good value £12 and comes with toast and a soft drink. The Bell has my vote. Would have been 5 stars but had to drop 1 for the eggs. Staff lovely and very helpful.
